Texas Tuff Rock Bags & Rock Log

Heavy-duty polyester mesh rock bags in multiple weight classes, plus the Texas Tuff Rock Log for linear toe protection. Specified in some regions as rock filter bags or scour bags, they are filled on site with local stone and placed by excavator — see how they compare to gabions, riprap and concrete.

Size Comparison

Compare sizes side by side.

Texas Tuff Rock Bags are available in four standard weight classes plus a custom build for project-specific applications. Each size is engineered for different flow velocities, depths, and loadings.

Best for Light scour, small streambanks, residential and lakefront projects. Most-specified size — streambanks, shoreline revetment, and light-to-moderate scour. Heavy-civil size — bridges, riverbanks, and port toes in higher-energy conditions. Offshore, oil & gas, and severe-current coastal applications. Project-specific applications where standard sizes don't fit. Talk to engineering for sizing.

Texas Tuff Rock Log

Linear toe protection.

Where the rock bags are discrete units for point and area protection, the Texas Tuff Rock Log is a linear section used for continuous toe protection along banks, embankments, and pipeline runs. It uses the same raschel-weave virgin-polyester mesh and 3-ply rope reinforcement as the heavy-civil bags, and fills on site with native or imported stone.

Rock Logs are sized to the site rather than sold in fixed weight classes — send us your bank profile, flow conditions, and run length and our engineering team will confirm the section and quote it.
